The name orginates from the fact that they're just ordinary guys who happen to have extraordinary musical talent. Self-described as a fun party band that doesn't take themselves too seriously, The Average Joe Band entertains at corporate events, clubs and bars, weddings, and private parties.

"We can get pretty crazy if the situation warrants," says guitarist Chris Johnson, "or we can tone it down. We don't have to rely on sheer volume to generate a lot of energy."

The Average Joe Band song list includes more than 100 selections in a wide variety of styles. They appeal to baby boomers and older through classic rock and party anthems from the 60's, 70's and 80's, as well as Gen X'ers with top 40 pop, funk, new country and alternative music.

During their musical journey over the course of many years, the Joe's crossed paths in several different bands. After working with a varierty of styles and musicians, each Joe sought out the best from their individual experiences and The Average Joe Band was formed. Since 1999, they've used their powerful vocals and performance experience to set themselves apart from others. Known for tightly blended harmonies, The Average Joe Band consistently produces quality entertainment and a strong following.

The Average Joe Band is equipped to adapt to a variety of situations -- inside or outdoors. They have played venues from local bars to large ballroom events at Lincoln's Cornhusker Hotel, Omaha's Hilton, Embassy Suites and Harrah's.

"The Average Joe Band performed at our annual New Year's Eve event and exceeded all expectations — from the time we booked them until the party ended. They helped promote our event, were very accommodating with set-up requirements, and played great dance music. Our dance floor was packed the entire night and it was obvious they have a tremendous following. I would recommend them for any venue looking for a GREAT band!"

“We had Average Joe play at a recent outing and found them to be fun, engaging and thoroughly entertaining. Our crowd was mostly 35 - 55 years old and loved the Southern Rock, 70's Rock, and strong vocals to go with the instrumentation. We'll have them back as soon as we can.”
